Job summary

The position includes planning practices, enforcing rules, coordinating equipment, and ensuring student eligibility while supporting academic activities and school community values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Possess or qualify for New Mexico coaching license.
• Teacher experience preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the NM activity rules.
• Demonstrated knowledge of NMAA rules.
• Valid driver's license.
• Alternatives to qualifications may be requested by the Superintendent.

Responsibilities

• Help students achieve a high level of skill and sportsmanship.
• Coach participants in essential skills for the activity.
• Plan and schedule regular in-season practices.
• Monitor compliance with rules and regulations.
• Recommend equipment purchases as head coach or athletic director.
• Maintain attendance, insurance, physical, and ethics records.
• Ensure safety of facilities during activities.
• Establish performance criteria for interscholastic eligibility.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanship standards.
• Attend to academic classroom work as needed.
• Prepare athlete lists and lettermen inventories per season.
