Job summary

ShopRite in West Orange, NJ is seeking a Seafood Clerk to manage daily seafood operations and provide exceptional customer service. You will stock, label, and rotate seafood products, assist customers, and uphold safety and sanitation standards.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a team-oriented environment; prior retail or seafood experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• English proficiency required to read, write, speak and understand; strong communication skills.
• Ability to work with a variety of seafood and related products, including shellfish, spices and powders.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good math skills and basic record-keeping ability.
• Willingness to follow safety, sanitation and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Receive, label, store and price seafood products; ensure freshness and proper rotation.
• Stay knowledgeable about seafood varieties, preparation and usage.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work surfaces and equipment.
• Follow company procedures for receiving, recording invoices and maintaining logs.
