Job summary

Mother’s Market in Newport Beach is seeking a Produce Clerk to deliver exceptional customer service, stock and rotate fresh produce, and maintain appealing displays. The role supports customers and collaborates with team members to ensure smooth daily operations in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will handle deliveries, keep displays fresh, assist customers with product knowledge, and maintain sanitation standards while working flexible weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience required.
• Experience with produce is a plus.
• Basic math and inventory handling skills.
• Familiarity with natural foods, health-conscious diets, or organic produce preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service with a friendly, helpful attitude.
• Stock, rotate, and maintain fresh produce and packaged fruits/vegetables.
• Remove spoiled or damaged items and ensure all displays are fresh and appealing.
• Water, trim, and merchandise produce and floral items as needed.
• Help customers locate items and provide information about fruits, vegetables, and alternative diets.
• Receive, inspect, and organize deliveries.
• Set up and take down seasonal displays.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards in the department.
• Coordinate returns or credits with suppliers when applicable.
• Work with team members and leadership to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Produce or Store Manager
