Hy-Vee, a leading grocery retailer, seeks a Produce Clerk to keep the produce department stocked, fresh, and inviting. You will greet customers, assist with their needs, and rotate products to maintain quality.

Qualifications

• Less than a high school diploma or equivalent accepted.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; training provided.
• Commitment to Hy-Vee's mission and customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, counting and recording.
• Clear communication with customers and co-workers.
• Knowledge of sanitation, food safety, and department procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting every customer with a smile and assisting their needs.
• Review the status and appearance of merchandise for freshness; replenish and rotate product.
• Ensure an adequate product supply; prepare and follow a daily production list.
• Check in product, put product away, review invoices as needed.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish product as necessary.
• Practice proper sanitation procedures; keep the work area clean and safe.
• Remove trash timely; assist with general department upkeep.
• Order product and supplies; price products for customers.
• Answer the phone promptly and provide friendly service to customers.
• Follow Hy-Vee's dress code and department guidelines.
• Pitch in with other tasks or special projects.
