DiCarlo Distributors, Inc. in Holtsville, NY is seeking a Fresh Produce Quality & Inventory Control Associate to inspect inbound and outbound produce and maintain accurate inventory records.

You will help ensure products meet quality, safety and regulatory standards while working with Purchasing, Operations and Sales to minimize shrink and maximize inventory accuracy. The role requires attention to detail, ability to work in a refrigerated warehouse, and familiarity with ERP/warehouse systems.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fresh produce varieties, seasonality, quality grades, ripening, handling and storage requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to make timely product disposition decisions.
• Effective verbal and written communication with suppliers, customers, and internal departments.
• Ability to work in refrigerated warehouse environments and safely lift and handle produce cases.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; experience entering inspection results into a system is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect inbound fresh produce shipments for quality, condition, temperature, count, size, color and maturity.
• Accept, hold, or reject products based on quality standards and communicate findings promptly.
• Perform daily warehouse and cooler inspections to monitor condition, rotation, temperature and shelf life.
• Conduct outbound quality checks and random shipping audits to ensure conformance to requirements.
• Document inspection results with temperatures, defects and corrective actions.
