Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Fresh Produce QA Inspector to ensure inbound and in-house produce quality. You will perform visual inspections on cooler dock items, coordinate with CM, Inventory Control, and OPS for produce issues, and report daily counts to the National Account Manager and Produce Team.

The role requires lifting up to 60 lbs, ability to work in 36–55°F temperatures, and training on pallet jack operation with certification. Weekend schedule Saturday–Wednesday 7am–4pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.
• 3-12 months’ procurement, warehouse and / or administrative experience in related area.
• Must be willing to train on pallet jack operation and successfully complete the required certification.
• Must be able to lift up to 60lbs where applicable.
• Comfortable working in temperatures between 36 - 55 degrees F for majority of the shift.
• Must be able to complete training Monday- Friday, then move to Sunday- Wednesday

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned duties efficiently to reduce spoilage; working closely with the cooler Receiving Department on perishable items
• Communicate and interact with customers (and company personnel) and vendors in a friendly, timely and quality manner; ensure customers' and vendors' questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
• Determine quality of products returned by customers; work with Returns Clerk on returned produce quality.
• Daily inspection of produce returns and determining the disposition of product as to putting back in the assigned pick slot or disregard as loss/shrink.
• Break / repack full cases to small cases.in the most timely and efficient manner as to reduce spoilage and lost inventory.
• Check for dating issue on designated products on a daily basis. Remove any short dated and bad product from inventory.
• Keep inventory counts current.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Schedule: Saturday to Wednesday 7am - 4pm
