Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a quality assurance professional to inspect inbound produce loads and ensure compliance with government requirements and Meijer specifications.

The role involves using test equipment, reporting observations, and facilitating corrective actions with leadership and buyers. You will verify banana specs daily, audit compliance with FDA cGMP and QA plans, and participate in recalls and supplier chargebacks while coordinating with DF leadership.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred; HACCP/SafeMark certification a plus.
• 2+ years in produce/ meat/ seafood QA or 3 years QA experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• USDA familiarity preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Inspect inbound produce loads using quality test equipment to verify government and Meijer specs.
• Report observations and assist corrective actions with DF Leadership and Buyers.
• Reject or accept fresh product per guidelines when buyers unavailable.
• Ensure banana specifications met before shipments.
• Audit DF per FDA cGMP and QA plans; communicate seasonal trends.
• Perform recall effectiveness checks.
• Collaborate with DF leadership and buying teams; support supplier chargebacks.
• Occasional duties as assigned; work weekends/holidays as needed.
