Job summary

The Chef’s Garden in Huron, OH is seeking a Specialty Vegetable Packer to fulfill orders, wash, clean, and prep products for shipment. You will ensure quality and accuracy at packing time.

You will work in a temperature-controlled packing room (about 38 degrees) and must follow Food Safety and HACCP procedures. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

The role offers a collaborative team environment and opportunities to contribute to fresh, vegetable-forward produce.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Work in a temperature controlled packing facility (38°F) to maintain product freshness.
• Follow Food Safety and HACCP procedures, including proper labeling and lot tracking.

Responsibilities

• Assist packing orders for the day’s deliveries and ensure accuracy.
• Check in incoming produce, assign lot numbers, and store promptly.
• Properly pack orders to prevent damage and maintain temperature.
• Cross-train in Tomato, Lettuce, Petites, and Micro Packing areas as needed.
• Follow company core values and maintain cleanliness of Packing Room.
