Job summary

New Leaf Community Markets, Inc. is seeking a Produce Clerk to support the Produce department, stock shelves, trim and package produce, and assist customers with product selection while maintaining safety and a clean, inviting department.

You will help prepare for store opening and closing, build displays, rotate stock, and follow company food safety policies and organic standards. Prior customer service or grocery experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service, food service, retail or grocery experience preferred.
• Previous produce experience in a retail, farm or distribution environment preferred.
• Basic ability to read and interpret documents.
• Basic math and computation skills.
• Skills to read, understand and follow through on verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Prepares Produce department for store opening and closing.
• Assists customers with product selection and shares product knowledge.
• Cleans, trims, packages, prices, rotates and stocks produce department products.
• Builds displays and arranges department products to highlight featured items.
• Maintains accurate pricing and signage meeting merchandising standards.
• Adheres to company organic standards and food safety policies.
• Notifies management of any issues impacting customer service, safety, or operations.
