Job summary

NetCost Market in Staten Island, NY is seeking a Prepared Food Associate to deliver exceptional customer service in the service department. This full-time role requires maintaining a safe, clean environment and ensuring accurate food preparation and portioning.

You will handle stocking, labeling, inventory, and food safety duties, meet physical requirements (lift up to 50 lbs), and work with a friendly team to help customers and keep the department running smoothly.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products
• Inform customers on ingredients in each recipe
• Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size
• Check product quality to ensure freshness
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
• Display a positive attitude
• Understand the store's layout and be able to locate products when requested by customer
• Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents
• Report all safety risks or issues and illegal activity to store management
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ensure that all garbage cans in the department have tightly closed lids and gloves changed after disposal
