Job summary

H-E-B in Lockhart, TX is seeking a Perishable Representative to keep the department well-stocked and clean while delivering bright customer service. You will prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products daily, and ensure all department and food safety standards are met.

You will handle customer inquiries in person or by phone, rotate stock, label and scan items, and support various departments (Aguas, Floral, Market, Produce, Seafood) with merchandise and knowledge to boost sales.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED (or equivalent)
• Customer service and communication skills
• Computer systems knowledge (Telxon, ACR, label machine)
• Reading, writing, and planning/organizing skills

Responsibilities

• Provides superior customer service
• Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person and assists with selections
• Prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product
• Rotates, labels, and scans items for production
• Maintains food safety and sanitation standards
• Supports department-specific areas (Aguas, Floral, Market, Produce, Seafood) with merchandising and product knowledge
