Job summary

Food Lion in Christiansburg, VA seeks a Perishable Department Associate to provide high-quality customer service and maintain standards across the department. You will handle daily tasks from receiving deliveries to stocking meat, dairy, and frozen items, following safety guidelines and company policies.

Responsibilities include using ACIS/CAO tools, ensuring accurate labeling, meeting production and display requirements, and maintaining a clean, organized department while supporting teammates

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain enthusiastic customer awareness with fast, friendly, and accurate service to create a positive shopping experience.
• Courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO.
• Receive deliveries, code where applicable, rotate and store.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise per policies.
• Maintain product levels in Perishable Department (meat, lunchmeat, dairy, frozen).
• Wrap, label, weigh and stock meat case as requested.
• Assemble, disassemble and clean the grinder as needed.
• Clean and sanitize the department.
• Maintain layout standards and ensure promotional materials are utilized.
• Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and report accidents.
