Job summary

Vallarta Supermarkets is seeking a Meat Cutter to prepare high-quality meat cuts and deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. The role requires safe operation of tools and equipment, strict adherence to food safety standards, and collaboration with the Meat Manager and coworkers.

You’ll manage display cases, stock, labeling, and maintain product knowledge while supporting store operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of consumer products and meat cuts.
• Familiarity with tools and machinery in the meat department.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of English.
• Professional, team-oriented attitude.
• Must be able to transfer to other store locations within a reasonable commute.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt service.
• Perform different meat cuts as directed by Meat Manager.
• Prepare meats with marinades and vegetables.
• Stock display cases and coolers as required.
• Ensure case temperatures and report discrepancies.
• Maintain knowledge of meat codes and comply with weights laws.
• Assist coworkers with cuts and questions.
• Follow food safety, health codes, and dress code.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment.
