Job summary

Vallarta Supermarkets is seeking a dedicated Meat Cutter to join our team in California. The role emphasizes safe meat handling, high quality cuts, and delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will assist with meat prep, maintain displays, and ensure accurate pricing and labeling. Candidates should be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, with flexibility to support multiple store locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of consumer meat products and cuts required.
• Familiarity with meat department tools and machinery.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in a busy retail setting.
• Basic English language understanding for communication and safety.
• Professional, courteous, and team-oriented attitude.
• Must be able to transfer to other Vallarta locations within a reasonable commute.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with a friendly, courteous service approach.
• Perform meat cuts as directed by the Meat Manager and ensure quality standards.
• Prepare meats with marinades and vegetables per store guidelines.
• Stock and display cases; maintain proper temperatures and sanitation.
• Assist coworkers with cuts and questions and report supply needs to management.
• Follow food safety, health codes, and dress code standards.
• Maintain accurate product knowledge and pricing per codes.
