Job summary

Sam's West, Inc. is seeking a Team Member for our Evergreen Park, IL location to assist with prepared meals and rotisserie items.

You will follow recipes, wrap and label products, and help customers with bakery orders while maintaining cold chain and food safety standards. You will be part of a team that delivers fresh items daily and supports cross-functional teams, with opportunities to learn digital tools for production and sales decisions.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Preferred: Food Handler Certification (Food Safety).

Responsibilities

• Be a Team Member: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product specifications related to prepared food merchandise; collaborate with cross functional teams and educate other associates on tools, tasks and resources; communicate effectively with team members; be flexible to the needs of the business to work in other areas.
• Be an Expert: Prepare food according to item specifications; plan future productions and mass productions; prepare for seasonality; adhere to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, inventory management; operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment.
• Be a Techie: Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; use handheld technology for immediate decisions related to production, training, and product quality.
• Be an Owner: Drive area performance; manage high exposure; stocking and rotating merchandise; ensure quality and date control; eliminate waste; guide peers and assist customers per policies.
• Be a Talent Ambassador: Advocate for the department and club by valuing member experience and modeling high quality service; maintain energy and passion for work.
• Complies with company policies and ethics; follow Open Door Policy; apply these in business processes.
• Completes work by prioritizing with policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers, and partners; address improvement opportunities and adapt to change.
