Job summary

Eataly is seeking a Produce Sales Associate to stock and display fresh produce while delivering exceptional customer service. Reports to the Fresh Market Manager and supports inventory, displays, and product flow throughout the shift.

You will greet customers, handle inquiries, rotate stock, and ensure quality through FIFO. Prior grocery experience helpful; strong math and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Retail or grocery experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Stocks, rotates and faces fresh produce per dept. procedure.
• Provides excellent customer service by assisting customers and handling inquiries.
• Receives product deliveries and checks invoices for accuracy.
• Ensures floor sets, signage and displays are merchandised to standards.
• Rotates items by FIFO to maintain freshness.
• Maintains back stock and warehouse storage.
• Communicates produce needs and issues to Market Manager.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment and adheres to regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description

A Produce Sales Associate is responsible for stocking and displaying fresh produce products while providing exceptional customer service that consistently exceeds expectations. Reports to the Fresh Market Manager.

• Stocks, rotates and faces fresh produce products according to department procedure; trimming, washing, culling and crisping produce to ensure quality and freshness and limit shrink
• Provides excellent customer service by greeting, assisting customers, taking special orders and responding to customer inquiries and complaints
• Receives product deliveries, ensures order and invoice accuracy and notes discrepancies according to established departmental procedures to ensure freshness and quality
• Checks to ensure that all floor sets, visual presentations, signage placement, etc. are faced and merchandised attractively as per quality standards
• Ensures all items are rotated by first in first out (FIFO) standards
• Organizes and maintains back stock and warehouse storage according to department standards
• Communicates respectfully and effectively with customers on upcoming events, new merchandise and product replenishment to increase sales
• Maintains a safe and cleanly work environment according to all department procedures, federal and state regulations
• Communicates fresh produce needs, adjustments, and problems to the Market Manager promptly and efficiently
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience in a grocery setting preferred
• Ability to understand and implement written and verbal instructions
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
• Ability to effectively multitask and organize workflow
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Job Requirements

• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds in weight
• Ability to use hand truck, cart, box cutter, ladder, label maker and cleaning supplies

Compensation: Pay range is set from $16 - $18 an hour
