Job summary

POM Wonderful is seeking a Reliability Mechanic to oversee, maintain, and perform tooling changes and setup. You will install and repair electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems across Beverage department facilities. Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; two years of general maintenance training beyond HS.
  • Experience with electrical, plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems is preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow complex instructions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety and GMP policies; maintain and repair production equipment.
  • Install, inspect, and repair electrical, plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems in Beverage department.
  • Keep PM records up to date and transfer equipment as needed.
  • Inspect major contractor work and assist with new installations or changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Reliability Mechanic is responsible for, but not limited to, overseeing, maintaining, performing tooling changes and setup. Installation and repair of electrical (minor electrical), plumbing, pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and other production/processing equipment. The role may involve evaluating problematic systems or facilities and determining the necessary installation or repair services. The position may be assigned to Plant 1, Plant 2, Arils or Scholar Department depending on the need or opening. All of these departments are part of the Fresh Department. The Reliability Mechanic must keep Safety and Quality in mind when all tasks are performed by them or those they oversee.

Compensation – $22.00 – $30.00 per hour (final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience).

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all company and OSHA safety programs are followed.
  • Ensure all GMP policies and food safety procedures are followed.
  • Ensure all required GFSI, FDA, USDA, third‑party audit, and company procedures and policies related to food safety are followed.
  • Inspect work for completeness. Inform supervisor when job assignments or PM are complete and ready for inspection.
  • Determine material, equipment, and supplies to be used. Transfer equipment from one project to another as necessary.
  • Keep routine records and PM records up to date.
  • Install, inspect, repair and maintain the electrical (minor electrical), plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other related systems in the Beverage department.
  • Inspect major contract work on mechanical and other related systems and assist when necessary to understand all new installations or changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to meet and deal tactfully and courteously with fellow employees and vendors/contractors.
  • Ability to install, inspect, repair and maintain the basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other related systems.
  • Ability to perform various clean‑up and maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Ability to update inventories and other supplies as needed.
  • Ability to understand complex written and oral instructions.
  • Thorough knowledge of occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.
  • Ability to weld MIG/TIG, stick, and sanitary.
  • Ability to follow all food safety programs and policies.
Education & Experience

High School or GED or related technical field. At least two years of education and training beyond the high school level in general maintenance and repair, or a closely related area. One year experience in maintenance operations including two years in a supervisory capacity. Other similar work or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position may be considered.
