Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a Food Clerk to deliver outstanding customer service in our Fresh departments. You will help customers with product knowledge and maintain attractive displays, while supporting multiple departments to keep the store running smoothly.

You will work in a fast-paced retail environment, engage with customers daily, and use store technology to complete tasks accurately. Prior retail or food service experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or food service experience is helpful, but not required.
• Ability to follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
• Strong customer-first mindset and communication skills.
• Willingness to be physically active and stand for extended periods.
• Comfort learning and using job-specific technology.

Responsibilities

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates.
• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need.
• Maintain full, fresh, and visually appealing product displays.
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise product according to standards.
• Use technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery.
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
