Job summary

Schnucks is hiring a Deli Clerk to provide friendly, efficient service and maintain high food quality in our deli. You will slice meats and cheeses, assemble sandwiches, and ensure safe handling and sanitation while engaging with customers and supporting store goals.

The role requires teamwork, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and flexible scheduling including nights and weekends. Training and growth opportunities are available within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Strong math skills for weights/measurements.
• Experience in food service is a plus.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers, in person and on the phone.
• Maintain a positive work environment.
• Keep deli area, equipment, cases and backroom clean per sanitation guidelines.
• Follow proper personal hygiene requirements and food safety practices.
• Slice and weigh lunch meats and cheeses, confirming slice thickness with customers.
• Prepare sandwiches, salads, and party trays while adhering to recipes.
• Assist with product rotation, stocking, and display preparation.
• Operate deli equipment (slicers, scales, wrapping equipment) as trained.
• Maintain attendance and multi-task to keep customers as a priority.
