Hannaford Supermarkets in Schenectady is seeking a friendly Deli Associate to join our prepared foods and deli counter team. You will greet customers, cut and package products, and help maintain a safe, clean, and inviting department.

The role involves multi-tasking across orders, training new associates, and building product knowledge to meet our quality standards while delivering outstanding service to every guest.

Qualifications

• Deli, restaurant or food service experience helpful but not required.
• Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environment.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to multi task and prioritize in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with locating and selecting products.
• Deliver outstanding, friendly customer service and offer solutions meeting expectations.
• Slice, cut, prepare, weigh and package products according to standards.
• Prepare multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining service and quality standards.
• Support and assist Service Counter.
• Adhere to highest product quality standards to support department strategy.
• Achieve productivity standards as outlined in Management Planning.
• Develop product knowledge in various areas of the department.
• Perform cleaning functions as required by policy.
• Assist in training other associates.
