Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Deli Clerk to assist customers, prepare fresh meals, and maintain deli displays in a fast-paced environment. You will handle slicing, packaging, and presenting deli items while ensuring cleanliness and safety in the deli area.

The role requires 18+ years old, a high school diploma or equivalent, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent; or a combination of education and experience.
• Dependable and reliable.
• Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills; able to take direction and work in a team.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Able to lift/carry up to 70 lbs. for up to 4 hours.
• Able to stand up to 4 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the deli area.
• Operate slicer and other deli equipment; maintain equipment in safe condition.
• Follow safety, health, and regulatory requirements; obtain Food Handlers permit.
• Work in different temperature environments (cooler and freezer).
• Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in choosing healthy options by preparing fresh meals.
• Provide high-level customer service and ensure deli items are prepared, packaged, and presented.
• Maintain and rotate products and displays in the deli.
• Prepare special orders and party trays.
• Operate deli equipment safely and in accordance with standards.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary deli area and equipment.
