Job summary

Sky Valley Education Center in Monroe, Washington is seeking a Part-Time French II/III instructor for the 2026-27 school year. The role involves delivering a compact weekly schedule (1 class per week, 4 hours total) for grades 8-12, engaging families, and creating a student-centered learning environment.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s or equivalent in the subject, have relevant certification or experience, and demonstrate strong teaching skills, classroom management, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the subject area required or
• Professional program or content area certification
• Documented professional experience with the assigned subject matter
• Previous experience working with school aged students in an alternative learning environment

Responsibilities

• Effectively plan and teach classes/workshops
• Teach and enforce standards of conduct and rules
• Supervise and conduct classes/workshops safely
• Support and enforce the District’s policies and procedures
• Ensuring that all classes/workshops are approved by the Director
• Teach citizenship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility
• Monitor attendance, grades and personal conduct
• Ensure that students comply with district requirements and eligibility rules prior to any participation if required
• Ensure the availability of related student materials
• Accompany students on any field trips related to the activity
• Comply with Monroe School District policies
• Maintain communication with school administrators and other advisors
• Build positive public relations in the school, with parents of students and in the community
• Ensure that discipline follows school and district protocol, is fair, consistent and aligned with District policies
• Accept responsibility for conduct of students
