Job summary

HDR is seeking a Freight Railroad Track Intern to gain real-world experience applying standard engineering techniques to track design and supporting facilities for freight railroad clients. You will work under a senior Engineer to assist in checking drawings, developing material lists, and calculating quantities, while reviewing submittals and using specialized software.

Travel within the U.S. may be required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Attitude and commitment to HDR's employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Gain real-world experience on projects applying engineering techniques to track design.
• Work under supervision of a senior Engineer to assist in checking drawings and calculations.
• Develop material lists and calculate quantities for projects.
• Review construction submittals and use of specialized software.
• Position may require travel within the U.S.
