Job summary

Guardian Rail is seeking a Conductor/Engineer to operate locomotives and trains in accordance with FRA, AAR, and company rules. You will monitor gauges, interpret signals, and coordinate train movements to ensure safe, on-time service.

The role requires a high school diploma (or GED), a valid driver’s license, and FRA 240/242 certification, with potential cross-training in related rail tasks.

Qualifications

• Two years of work experience in a rail or transportation setting.
• Preferred three years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Must have high school diploma or GED and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate locomotives and trains safely following regulations and company rules.
• Monitor speed, brakes and gauges to ensure smooth operation.
• Read and interpret train orders, signals and track authority
• Prepare daily reports and switch lists; inspect train and equipment.
• Cross-train for other rail duties as needed.
