Job summary

Unknown Company is seeking a Freight Rail Engineering Project Manager to lead planning and design teams for railroad projects nationwide, focusing on business development and project oversight.

The role requires strong client interaction, ability to lead multi-discipline teams, and experience with design/build rail engineering projects. A PE license is strongly preferred and effective communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field from an accredited program.
• 7+ years of related experience, including 5+ years in rail engineering or project management.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) strongly preferred.
• Experience managing rail industrial development design-build projects.
• Excellent communication and leadership across multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety programs and promote health performance of project team members and subcontractors.
• Lead design/build rail engineering projects and coordinate with contractors and construction staff.
• Provide leadership in safety, quality, procurement, environmental compliance, project controls and public relations.
• Develop and manage client relationships; interface for proposals and project-related items.
• Lead internal and external project risk reviews and coordinate with Legal as required.
• Manage contract administration, RFIs, submittals, change management, closeout, and claims mitigation.
• Plan and allocate project personnel needs and mentor junior staff.
• Communicate project status, risks, schedule and costs to stakeholders.
