Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. in New Jersey is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor to lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations. You will develop procedures, manage workloads, and oversee hourly staff to ensure on-time, damage-free deliveries.

The role requires 2 years of related experience, knowledge of LTL and regulatory rules, and flexibility to work various shifts. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and supervisory experience; attractive benefits and incentive plans

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
• Knowledge of LTL, hazmat regulations and DOT rules.
• Available to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet evolving demands
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks
• Supervise hourly staff and act as primary contact for workplace concerns
• Ensure production goals by managing tonnage, payroll and administrative functions
• Plan hourly schedules to meet daily operations goals and lower costs
• Enforce company, FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies
• Train employees on safety rules and processes
