Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor in Ohio to lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations, develop and implement strategic work procedures, and manage workloads to meet daily goals.

You will coach hourly staff, enforce FMCSR, OSHA, DOT policies, optimize loading, and drive safety and productivity while delivering timely, damage-free customer freight.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in a warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
• Knowledge of the Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules and regulations.
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet evolving department demands.
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff across operations and address workplace concerns.
• Manage production goals by handling tonnage, payroll and administrative tasks.
• Plan hourly schedules to meet daily goals and reduce costs.
• Enforce FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies and laws.
• Ensure timely, damage-free processing, handling, loading and delivery of customer freight.
• Coach employees on proper techniques and quality requirements and conduct evaluations.
• Direct a team to meet or exceed productivity goals and participate in safety committees.
