Job summary

XPO is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor in Pocatello, Idaho to lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations, develop and implement strategic work procedures, and ensure productivity and safety on shift. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in warehousing or related field, knowledge of LTL and DOT regulations, and availability for varied shifts.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in a warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
• Knowledge of LTL industry, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules.
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet evolving departmental demands.
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff and act as primary contact for workplace concerns.
• Ensure production goals by managing tonnage, payroll and administrative functions.
• Plan hourly schedules to meet goals and reduce costs.
• Enforce all relevant policies, rules, and regulations.
• Ensure timely, damage-free customer freight handling and delivery.
• Coach and develop employees, conduct evaluations, and implement corrective actions.
• Direct a team to meet or exceed productivity goals.
• Assist in hiring, suspensions and terminations; present action plans to improve metrics.
