Job description

YOUR ROLE

Are you known for your equipment operation skills and passionate about warehouse logistics and organization? Do you enjoy leading others and working in a clean and efficient warehouse environment? If so, we have an opportunity for you to oversee loading/unloading of freight and contribute to safe and efficient warehouse operations.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

• Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times. Distribute work assignments, provide direction, and train assigned team. Oversee responsibility for at least one major account and be effectively cross-trained on others to fill in as necessary.
• Manage cargo from incoming trucks by removing from truck manually or using equipment such as hand truck, pallet jack, or forklift.
• Verify and note the count and condition of cargo received, knowing when to refuse or accept with notation. Record receipts and verify proper documentation, resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Operate vehicles to transport materials safely and efficiently. Perform forklift duties, including heavy and oversized items. Develop load plans for trucks and containers and anticipate equipment needs.
• Sort cargo received by account or location and store appropriately. Ensure freight is labeled accurately.
• Oversee special handling requirements and documentation for hazardous or sensitive materials.
• Assist with light packing duties and export boxing when needed.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• High School Diploma or GED; minimum three years related experience; six months supervisory experience; industry experience preferred.
• Forklift Driver Certification; valid driver's license preferred. Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently. Ability to operate heavy equipment, forklift, hand truck, and pallet jack. Basic math skills.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer needs. Ability to command workflow, read and complete documentation, and train staff. Problem-solving skills required.
