Job summary

Estes Express Lines seeks a dock worker to safely load and unload freight using forklift, pallet jack, or by hand. You will strap, brace, and pad freight to prevent damage and accurately record its condition upon arrival at the service center.

The role requires lifting about 70 lbs, standing and moving throughout shifts, and performing pre-/post-shift inspections of equipment. Flexibility for overtime and weekend work is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background
• Must be 17+ years of age
• Experience in transportation industry preferred
• Stable employment history preferred
• Prior operation of a forklift or forklift certification preferred
• Must be able to lift approx. 70 lbs.
• Must be able to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen / background check
• Authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Properly load and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand
• Strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage or shifting
• Record the condition of freight as it arrives at the service center
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of dock equipment
• Regular attendance is required
• Duties may include other tasks as needed by operations
