Our client is looking for a strong and dedicated Freight Broker. A freight broker acts as an intermediary between shippers and carriers, facilitating the transportation of goods.

Responsibilities

• Connecting Shippers with Carriers: match shippers with carriers that can transport their goods efficiently and cost‑effectively.
• Negotiating Rates: negotiate rates and terms with shippers and carriers to ensure a fair deal while maximizing profitability.
• Problem Solving: act as intermediaries to resolve issues or delays during transportation and ensure smooth delivery.
• Customer Service: provide customer service to shippers and carriers, addressing any concerns throughout the process.
• Compliance and Regulation: stay updated on transportation regulations and ensure that all shipments comply with legal requirements.

Duties

• Establish a business relationship with customers.
• Collaborate with dispatchers to develop good customer relationships.
• Understand and comply with customer expectations and procedures.
• Maintain effective communication with customers, keeping all relevant parties in email correspondence.
• Prevent and resolve delivery problems, e.g., call ahead to receivers.
• Resolve problems that occur and communicate solutions to the customer.
• Quote freight effectively.
• Use carrier contacts and load boards correctly to reduce service failures.
• Recruit and vet qualified carriers and update the "Carrier Contacts" section.
• Communicate load availability with Carrier Contacts before posting to external load boards.

Minimum of $600 a week base plus uncapped high commissions.
