Our client is looking for a strong and dedicated Freight Broker. A freight broker acts as an intermediary between shippers (companies or individuals who need to transport goods) and carriers (truckers, shipping companies, etc.). Their primary role is to facilitate the transportation of goods by connecting shippers with carriers.

Responsibilities

• Connect shippers to carriers, matching them with efficient and cost‑effective solutions.
• Negotiate rates and terms with shippers and carriers to secure fair deals and maximize profitability.
• Resolve transportation issues, acting as intermediary to address delays and ensure smooth delivery.
• Provide customer service to shippers and carriers, addressing concerns throughout the shipping process.
• Stay current on transportation regulations and ensure shipment compliance with legal requirements.
• Establish and maintain business relationships with customers.
• Collaborate closely with dispatcher to develop and nurture customer relationships, meet customer expectations and procedures, maintain effective communication, ensure dispatcher is included on all emails, and prevent and resolve problems by pre‑notification and proactive coordination.
• Accurately quote freight for customers and use carrier base appropriately, maintaining the “Carrier Contacts” section.
• Properly post and cover loads on external load boards, communicating load availability with “Carrier Contacts” before posting.
• Recruit and vet qualified carriers, adding them to the “Carrier Contacts” section.
• Foster good business relationships with carriers, ensuring smooth operations.
