Job description

Santa Monica Seafood, as an 80-year-old privately owned company, is the largest specialty wholesale distribution and processor of fresh and frozen seafood in the Southwestern U.S. with over 200,000 SF of facilities in 12 locations In California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas. Santa Monica Seafood is also well known locally for its two retail stores and cafes in Santa Monica and Costa Mesa. Santa Monica Seafood was the first and still the only seafood company in the United States to achieve FSSC 22000 certification for food safety management systems, ISO 14001 certification for environmental management programs, and BAP certification of its main processing facility.

The Freezer Stocker will be a self-motivated individual able to work both independently and as part of the team. Freezer Stock person will stock, palletize, arrange seafood product and maintain and replenish the stock in a safe and efficient manner, other misc. duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment
  • Learn and memorize the location of the product
  • Examine stock for damaged product and place in the designated area
  • Stock shelves, set up and takedown, repetitive work
  • Conduct visual inspection of the product being placed on shelves
  • Organize and maneuver storage of all product
  • Must be able to perform physical activities such as lift/pull/push/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to operate a stand-up forklift/perform other duties not using a forklift.
  • Must be able to safely operate equipment and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear aisles and debris
  • Perform primary duties efficiently and accurately
  • Must be flexible, dependable, and reliable. Maintain prompt and regular attendance
  • Ability to work in Freezer department 6-10 hours per day
  • Must be able to work in a cold environment- Freezer ranging below 0 degrees
  • Freezer equipment/suits will be provided by the company


Sunday-Friday, with Saturdays off and one other day during the week. 7pm-3:30am.
