Job summary

Methodist ER Legacy Trails in San Antonio, TX seeks a Freestanding Emergency Room Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and care teams. You will advocate for patients and contribute to outcomes through evidence-based nursing practices.

You will perform assessments, communicate care plans, teach patients and families, and participate in hospital councils and nursing initiatives that shape the future of nursing.

Qualifications

• Current Texas RN license required.
• Associate or Bachelor degree in nursing or RN Diploma.
• ACLS within 90 days; BCLS within 30 days of start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 6 months.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course or PALS within 1 year.
• RN with at least 6 months of licensed RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management.
• Perform procedures and document care in the patient medical record promptly.
• Respond to patient requests promptly and anticipate needs.
• Teach patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications and follow-up.
• Educate on non-medicinal follow-up measures and self-management.

Skills

ACLS within 90 days

BCLS within 30 days

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention

TNCC/PALS within 1 year

RN experience 6 months

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing
