Job summary

HCA Florida Central Tampa Freestanding ER is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency setting. The RN coordinates with providers, conducts assessments, administers treatments, and educates patients and families, with thorough documentation to support outcomes.

The ideal candidate will hold a Florida RN license (or compact license with active FL RN within 60 days), a Nursing Diploma or ASN (BSN preferred), and BLS/ACLS within 6 months,

Qualifications

• Current Florida RN license or compact license active within 60 days.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN is required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum one year ER RN experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification within 6 months.
• PALS/ENPC within 6 months.
• NIHSS/TNCC/CPI training within 6 months.
• CEN/CPEN preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly and promote pain management.
• Perform procedures and document care in the patient medical record.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and follow-up.
• Prepare patients for self-management and lifestyle changes.
