Freestanding ER Clinical Pharmacist (Full‑Time, 4 days per week)
Location: Portland, TN. The position is a Full State Emergency Department (FSED) clinical pharmacist in a freestanding emergency care setting.
Responsibilities
- Utilize problem‑solving abilities to resolve medication issues, consulting with other knowledgeable parties as needed.
- Maintain strong knowledge of hospital policies and governmental regulations and dispense accordingly.
- Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient reactions, errors, and complaints.
- Determine and consult on potential drug interactions.
- Assist with quality‑improvement initiatives, inventory management, and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
- Monitor, record, and communicate data using computerized documentation systems.
- Apply age‑specific patient needs in performance of duties and responsibilities.
- Serve as the pharmacist in charge, responsible for compliance and pharmacy operations at the FSED.
- Expected schedule: full‑time, 4 days per week, 8‑hour day shifts.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Licensure in the State of Tennessee; board certification preferred.
- One year of inpatient hospital experience preferred; residency preferred.
