Job summary

Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH seeks a Registered Nurse for our Freestanding Emergency Department in Plaistow. This full-time night position emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration with managers, and participation in hospital councils and national nursing initiatives.

The RN coordinates and delivers high-quality care, advocates for patients, and contributes to outstanding outcomes in a fast-paced ED environment.

Qualifications

• RN is required and licensed to practice as a registered nurse.
• Associate degree in nursing or equivalent.
• ACLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• BLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 30 days of employment start date.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 1 year of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassess after interventions.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider and document care in the medical record.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs to provide exceptional care.
• Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, status, treatment plan, medications and potential side effects, and follow-up measures.
• Educate on non-medicinal follow-up measures (diet, exercise, disease prevention) and prepare for future self-management.
