Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager / Senior Site Manager for a major commercial/industrial fit-out in Northampton. The 30-week weekend-only contract runs Saturdays and Sundays, with 7:00am–7:00pm shifts and a daily rate of £300-£375 via CIS Umbrella, start ASAP.

You will lead weekend works, supervise a specialist subcontractor, coordinate with the project team, and ensure safety, quality, and programme adherence.

Qualifications

• Previous site management experience on large-scale commercial/industrial projects.
• Strong subcontractor management and coordination skills.
• Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise a specialist subcontractor during weekend works.
• Provide effective site leadership and maintain site standards.
• Ensure works are completed safely and in accordance with the programme.
• Monitor progress and report any issues or delays.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and site requirements.
• Maintain high standards of health & safety.
• Liaise with the wider project team and subcontractors.
• Ensure works meet required quality standards.
• Take ownership of weekend site activities.

A well-established and growing Main Contractor is currently looking for an experienced Freelance Site Manager / Senior Site Manager to join a major commercial/industrial fit-out project in Northampton. This is a 30-week weekend-only contract, making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager or Senior Site Manager who is looking for additional freelance work alongside existing commitments.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing weekend site management and supervision of a specialist subcontractor, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with the agreed programme. You will take responsibility for the site during weekend operations, coordinating the subcontractor and liaising with the wider project team as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and supervising a specialist subcontractor during weekend works.
• Providing effective site leadership and maintaining site standards.
• Ensuring works are completed safely and in accordance with the programme.

• Taking ownership of site activities throughout the weekend shift.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager.
• Strong subcontractor management experience.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial, industrial, M&E or specialist projects.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of weekend site activities.
• Valid SMSTS.
• Valid CSCS.
• Valid First Aid.
• Experience managing mechanical, refrigeration, M&E or other specialist subcontractors would be advantageous.

Working Pattern: Saturday & Sunday – 7:00am to 7:00pm The successful candidate will generally be able to finish once the relevant subcontractor has completed their works for the day. This role is specifically weekend work only.
