Role Overview

BCV is looking for a creative and highly skilled freelance videographer to execute and assist with hospitality content shoots for social media. You’ll provide your expert knowledge of videography and capture cinematic footage that will excite our client’s imagination and create thumb-stopping reels on social media. This role is perfect for creative videographers who are comfortable working in fast-moving environments. They use their skills with agility to make every location as captivating as possible.

Responsibilities:

• Cinematographer – Lend your talents to making dynamic shots for our clients. This is a creative position where we will lean on your expertise to drive the creative direction on the shoot.
• Director – Put talent at ease to make the best shots possible.
• Collaboration – Partner with a member of BCV, on location to ensure the content captured is what the client was promised. Work in tandem with a photographer if the scope includes photo.
• Work Light – Capture as much high-quality content as possible. No large crew or gear necessary: a few lenes, a couple large memory cards, a gimbal, tripod, and portable LED light is all you need.
• Work Smart – Identify areas that will work better for a shot, spot any distracting background elements and remove it from your shot. Enhance your shots by maximizing the use of natural light and the environment.
• Know your stuff – Know your gear like the back of your hand. Be able to ensure white balance is correct, when using 120fps or 59.94fps, and basic light set ups are key to success.
• Quality vs Quantity – Capture plenty of angles, alternative takes, and aspect ratios when on a shoot. Strike a perfect balance of capturing a lot of content, but as captivating as possible. Capture more than one take for an action if possible. Capture takes with at least 2 seconds of pre-roll and 2 seconds of tails on each clip.
• Client Focused – Collaborate onsite with our hospitality clients, remaining positive and upbeat through challenges.
• Deliver RAW footage – Capture RAW 4K footage then send over to BCV so our in-house editors can begin the post-production process.

Education & Work Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as an Videographer.

Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of videography techniques and equipment operation, including white balance, frame rates (e.g., 120fps, 59.94fps), gimbal work, basic lighting setups, and RAW 4K capture.
• Deep understanding of social media platforms—particularly Instagram Reels and TikTok—and what kind of video content performs well.
• Familiarity with hospitality, lifestyle and food & beverage video styles and trends.
• Understanding of the end-to-end shoot process—from pre-shoot concept alignment to on-site execution and raw footage delivery.
• Awareness of how natural light and location elements can enhance or detract from video quality.

Skills

• Exceptional cinematography and visual storytelling skills with a portfolio showcasing polished, high-quality, dynamic shots.
• Comfortable directing talent on set and putting them at ease to achieve natural, engaging performances.
• Skilled in maximizing efficiency on set - identifying the best angles, reducing distractions in the frame, and using minimal but effective equipment.
• Proficient in capturing various angles, takes, and formats in a limited time window while maintaining strong creative quality.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work closely with BCV producers, photographers (when applicable), and clients on-site.
• Ability to follow a pre-shoot video concept guide and creatively interpret it on set.
• Work independently on fast-paced hospitality shoots, often with minimal crew and gear.
• Adapt to dynamic shooting environments and make real-time decisions to improve framing, lighting, or overall shot quality.
• Efficiently manage time on location to maximize content capture, ensuring variety in takes, angles, and formats.
• Maintain a professional and positive demeanor on client-facing shoots, even in challenging conditions.
• Upload and deliver all RAW 4K footage within one week of the shoot, ensuring organized, accessible file structure for BCV’s post-production team.
• Travel to required shoot locations and operate flexibly based on project needs.
