Job summary

TEGNA Inc.’s WFAA-TV in Dallas seeks a talented Video Editor to join our team as a full-time editor for television, digital and social platforms. The ideal candidate brings strong storytelling, proficiency with non-linear editing, and the ability to deliver under tight deadlines on early mornings, nights and weekends.

Collaboration with producers and reporters is essential to produce engaging local news content.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of non-linear editing systems using Edius, Premiere, and Photoshop.
• Interest in broadcast and digital news content
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under deadline pressure
• Must be deadline-oriented, maintaining quality while staying on tight schedules
• Must be able to work early mornings, nights and weekends

Responsibilities

• Use editing tools to create content for Newscast and Digital platforms.
• Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories.
• Work closely with news producers, reporters, photojournalists and the digital team.
