Job summary

NowThis is seeking an Editor to join the NowThis Production team. You'll transform raw footage into compelling, social-first content that informs, engages, and inspires audiences.

You'll own the post-production process—from assembling edits and graphics to color correction, sound design, and final delivery. You'll collaborate with producers, editors, and cross-functional teams to meet tight deadlines, create thumbnails, and optimize content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional editing in digital media or news.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, After Effects and the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of post-production workflows, including media management, transcoding, codecs, file organization, and platform-specific delivery requirements.
• Experience editing for social and digital platforms with pacing, engagement, and platform best practices.
• Exceptional storytelling instincts with keen eye for pacing, visual composition, and detail.
• Experience incorporating graphics, stock footage, archival media, and audio into polished edits.
• Proficiency in color correction, sound design, and finishing techniques.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to incorporate feedback.
• Familiarity with NowThis's editorial voice and storytelling approach.

Responsibilities

• Edit engaging, social-first videos across editorial, branded, and original programming under tight deadlines.
• Collaborate with Editorial, Development, Branded Content, Design, and Production teams throughout post-production.
• Incorporate graphics, archival footage, animation, sound design, color correction, and platform-specific formatting into polished edits.
• Manage media ingestion, organization, transcoding, backups, and workflows for efficient delivery and handoffs.
• Create compelling thumbnails and optimize final deliverables for distribution across multiple platforms.
• Ensure all content meets NowThis editorial, technical, and quality standards before delivery.
• Contribute creative ideas during edit reviews and elevate storytelling and visuals with producers.
• Stay current on editing techniques and social media trends to improve content quality.
• Occasionally work evenings or weekends to support deadlines.
