NowThis is seeking an Editor to join the NowThis Production team. You'll transform raw footage into compelling, social-first content that informs, engages, and inspires audiences.

You'll own the post-production process—from assembling edits and graphics to color correction, sound design, and final delivery. Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of professional editing in digital media or news.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, After Effects and the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of post-production workflows, including media management, transcoding, codecs, file organization, and platform-specific delivery requirements.
• Experience editing for social and digital platforms with pacing, engagement, and platform best practices.
• Exceptional storytelling instincts with keen eye for pacing, visual composition, and detail.
• Experience incorporating graphics, stock footage, archival media, and audio into polished edits.
• Proficiency in color correction, sound design, and finishing techniques.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to incorporate feedback.
• Familiarity with NowThis's editorial voice and storytelling approach.

About the Role

Working closely with producers, designers, and cross-functional teams, you'll own the post-production process—from assembling edits and incorporating graphics to color correction, sound design, and final delivery—ensuring every video meets NowThis's creative, technical, and editorial standards.

What You'll Do

• Edit engaging, social-first videos across editorial, branded, and original programming while meeting tight deadlines.
• Collaborate with Editorial, Development, Branded Content, Design, and Production teams throughout the post-production process.
• Incorporate graphics, archival footage, animation, sound design, color correction, and platform-specific formatting into polished final edits.
• Manage media ingestion, organization, transcoding, backups, and post-production workflows to ensure efficient project delivery and seamless handoffs.
• Create compelling thumbnails and optimize final deliverables for distribution across multiple social platforms.
• Ensure all content meets NowThis's editorial, technical, and quality standards prior to delivery.
• Contribute creative ideas during edit reviews and collaborate with producers to elevate storytelling and visual execution.
• Stay current on editing techniques, post-production technologies, and social media trends to continually improve content quality.
• Occasionally work evenings or weekends to support production deadlines, as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional editing experience, preferably in digital media, news, or social-first content.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, After Effects, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of post-production workflows, including media management, transcoding, codecs, file organization, and platform-specific delivery requirements.
• Experience editing for social and digital platforms, with a strong understanding of pacing, audience engagement, and platform best practices.
• Exceptional storytelling instincts with a keen eye for pacing, visual composition, and attention to detail.
• Experience incorporating graphics, animation, stock footage, archival media, and audio into polished edits.
• Proficiency in color correction, sound design, audio mixing, and finishing techniques.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to incorporate creative feedback efficiently.
• Familiarity with NowThis's editorial voice, style, and storytelling approach.

Preferred Qualifications

• Motion graphics experience using Adobe After Effects.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.
• Experience with cloud-based production and collaboration workflows.
• Experience creating content optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Snapchat, and other vertical video platforms.

Compensation

Compensation for this freelance position ranges from $1,500–$1,700 per week. Placement within this range is determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, project scope, contractual agreements, and business needs.
