Job summary

Fawkes and Reece is hiring a Freelance Site Engineer for a civils waterworks project based in Chester. You will set out works, interpret drawings, and work with subcontractors on clean water pipelines and pumping stations.

The role requires proven site engineering experience, strong setting out skills with modern surveying equipment, and a good reading of drawings. Day rate is £320–£420, with weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Proven site engineer experience, preferably in water works.
• Strong setting out experience with modern surveying equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Experience coordinating with subcontractors.
• CSCS/SSSTS/SMSTS and First Aid preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set out works using station, GPS, and other surveying equipment.
• Interpret construction drawings, specs and schedules.
• Carry out dimensional and level checks on completed works.
• Work across infrastructure such as clean water pipelines and mains, trunk mains, sewers and rising mains, pumping stations, water treatment works, wastewater treatment works.
• Calculate volumes, quantities, and levels where required.
• Comply with H&S guidelines.

We're Hiring: Freelance Site Engineer

Location: Chester
Sectors: Civils waterworks
Day rate: £320 to £420 per day
Duration: Ongoing

We are hiring for Freelance Site Engineer's for a project based in Chester working on a civils waterworks project, working with waste and clean water. This is ongoing long term work. Previous water experience is preferred but not essential, an experienced civils background is required.

Key Responsibilities of a Freelance Site Engineer:

• Set out works using station, GPS, and other surveying equipment.
• Interpret construction drawings specs and schedules.
• Carry out dimensional and level checks on completed works.
• Working across infrastructure such as clean water pipelines and mains, trunk mains, sewers and rising mains, pumping stations, water treatment works, wastewater treatment works.
• Caluclating volumes, quantities, and levels where required.
• Comply with cpmany H&S guidelines.

Experience Required for the Freelance Site Engineer:

• Proven experience as a site engineer, preferably in water works
• Strong setting out experience using modern surveying equipment
• Ability to read and interpret drawings
• Experience working with subcontractors
• CSCS, SSSTS/SMSTS, First Aid (desirable not essential), engineering qualification.
• Day rate flexible
• Weekly pay on a Friday
