Job summary

Descriptive Video Works, owned by Keywords Studios, is a recognized provider of Audio Description for blind and low-vision audiences. We seek experienced freelance Mandarin (simplified) AD scriptwriters to join our international team and help deliver accessible content.

You will write or proofread narration scripts for film and television, meet deadlines set by the Project Manager, and QC scripts to meet DVW and client quality standards. Remote work and flexible hours are offered.

Qualifications

• Commitment to accessibility and inclusion.
• Native speaker of Mandarin.
• Understanding of audio description guidelines and best practices.
• Minimum of 1 year of proven Audio Description script writing or AD script QC.
• Mastery of Mandarin written grammar and elements of style.
• Good English comprehension.

Responsibilities

• Write and/or proofread Mandarin (simplified) audio description narration scripts for film and television content.
• Ability to meet deadlines as determined by DVW Project Manager and communicate any issues that could impact the delivery of the script.
• Ensure that AD scripts meet DVW's and client's quality standards.
