  • Select and specify interior finishes, flooring, tile, stone, cabinetry, countertops, plumbing fixtures, lighting, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), as assigned.
  • Contribute to the development of design standards and finish palettes appropriate for multifamily properties.
  • Ensure design selections balance aesthetics, functionality, durability, maintenance requirements, and project budgets.
Design Documentation & Specifications
  • Prepare and coordinate interior design drawings, finish schedules, material specifications, and documentation.
  • Develop detailed specification packages and product schedules.
  • Prepare product tear sheets, cut sheets, and finish documentation for client and project team review.

  • Communicate with vendors and manufacturers regarding product availability, lead times, pricing, and technical specifications.
  • Assist with reviewing shop drawings, finish samples, and product substitutions for alignment with the approved design.
  • Identify potential design coordination issues and communicate them proactively to the project team.
Project Management Support
  • Maintain organized project files, design documentation, and specification records.
  • Monitor assigned tasks and deliverables to ensure they are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Support project budget considerations through finish and product research, pricing comparisons, and value-engineering alternatives.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates on design progress, outstanding selections, and coordination needs.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of professional interior design experience, with a strong emphasis on multifamily residential projects.
  • MUST BE LOCAL TO THE DMV AREA

  • Experience collaborating with developers, architects, general contractors, consultants, vendors, and manufacturers.
  • Proficiency in relevant design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or comparable platforms, depending on project requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and meet established deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to translate design concepts into coordinated, buildable design documentation.
  • A professional portfolio demonstrating relevant multifamily project experience is required.
