Job summary

Mindrift is seeking an experienced CAD-focused engineer to join a remote, freelance role that trains AI agents within a real CAD environment on long, complex tasks. You will design part geometry, build reference solutions, and judge agent attempts, working alongside CFD engineers simulating your geometry.

The position emphasizes 5+ years CAD modelling in CATIA/SolidWorks/NX/Creo, a current CAD license, and Python/GitHub fluency, with English at B2+ as a requirement.

Qualifications

About the role

Help train and evaluate AI agents that work inside a real CAD environment on long engineering tasks, work that would take an expert 10-15 hours. You'll design part geometry, build reference solutions, and judge the agent's attempts. You'll work alongside CFD engineers who simulate the geometry you build.

Requirements

• A degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. A Master's or PhD is a plus.
• 5+ years of professional, hands-on CAD modelling (CATIA, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Creo or similar). Experience preparing geometry for simulation (ANSYS or similar) is a strong plus.
• An active professional CAD licence of your own (required).
• Comfortable with Python and GitHub.
• English at B2 level or above.

Project time expectations

For this project, tasks are estimated to require around 10-20 hours per week during active phases, based on project requirements. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed workload, and applies only while the project is active.

Compensation

On this project, contributors can earn up to$69 per hour equivalent , depending on their level and pace of contribution.
