Column Five, a distributed remote-first B2B marketing agency, seeks a freelance copy editor to work on project-based marketing copy for SaaS clients. You’ll collaborate with C5’s internal team and sometimes with clients.

You will enforce brand style guides, edit both short and long form content, and conduct thorough research and fact-checking with exceptional attention to detail. Remote-first in the USA, weekly meetings in US time zones.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional copy editing in B2B tech, SaaS, or developer content.
• Strong research and fact-checking skills.
• Ability to enforce brand style guides across content.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work autonomously.
• Experience editing both short- and long-form content.

Responsibilities

• Copy edit short- and long-form content for client marketing campaigns and websites.
• Polish and refine existing copy to translate complex tech concepts into clear, compelling copy.
• Collaborate with the creative team through feedback sessions and critiques.
• Edit messaging for corporate marketing deliverables with brand guideline compliance.
• Edit content for executive, legal, and marketing audiences with focus on accuracy and credibility.
• Preserve technical nuance while improving readability and flow for target audiences.
• Manage editing projects and track comments across stakeholders.
• Serve as the point of contact for copy deliverables and deadlines.
• Attend project kick-offs and style guide updates; communicate progress via Slack/PM/CRM.
