Job summary

Biosil is seeking a content editor to finalize short-form video content for social media and ecommerce, collaborating with the content and ecommerce teams to turn raw footage into compelling Instagram, TikTok and Meta ads.

You will join a busy team and be expected to contribute ideas, work across organic and paid content, and adapt edits to performance data while meeting tight turnaround times.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience editing social-first content.
• Proficient with TikTok, Instagram Reels and short-form video.
• Strong understanding of trends and what viewers want.
• Ability to turn raw footage into scroll-stopping content.
• Understanding of hooks, pacing, storytelling, sound, captions.

Responsibilities

• Edit short-form video for TikTok, Instagram Reels and Meta ads.
• Transform raw footage into scroll-stopping social content with captions, transitions and effects.
• Optimize edits for paid ads using direct response formatting and A/B variation testing.
• Brainstorm with content team for new video ideas.
• Brief content team on shots/hooks to film for organic edits.
• Brief content team for paid ads edits in ecommerce workflows.
• Collaborate with ecommerce to improve content continually.
• Repurpose existing footage into fresh content.
• Edit a variety of formats: lifestyle, educational, product, UGC, interviews, trends.
• Adapt editing style for organic, paid, and brand content.
• Review content performance and apply learnings to future edits.
• Be responsive to feedback and complete revisions on time.

As content editor for Biosil you lay the last hand on short-form video content for social media and digital ads. You will join the content team and ecommerce team;you will work closely with them to turn raw video footage into short-form video content for Instagram, TikTok and Meta ads.

Key Responsibilities

• You edit short-form video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels and Meta ads
• You edit raw video footage into scroll stopping content for social media using; fast-paced editing, dynamic captions, audio design, hooks, cuts, overlays, transitions, text and visual effects.
• You optimize edits for paid ads using; direct response formatting, A/B variation testing, trend asset tracking.
• You actively brainstorm with the content team about new video ideas
• You work with content team for organic social specific edits, you are included from A-Z in the process so you can brief content team on which shots /hooks to film.
• You work with ecommerce team for paid ads specific edits, you are included from A-Z in the process so you can brief content team on which shots /hooks to film.
• You work with ecommerce team on improving content consecutively.
• You repurpose existing footage and content assets into fresh content.
• You edit a variety of formats, including lifestyle content, educational videos, product-focused content, UGC-style videos, interviews, trends, event coverage, and viral trend concepts.
• You understand the creative differences between organic social, paid media, and brand content and adapt editing styles accordingly.
• You review content performance and incorporate learnings into future edits, including improvements to hooks, pacing, video length, storytelling, and creative formats.
• You are responsive to feedback and complete revisions within agreed-upon turnaround times.

Freelance Commitment

• Freelance contractor position.
• Up to 30 hours per week, based on content needs and workload.
• Must have the flexibility to support a fast-moving social content calendar and accommodate short turnaround times.

What You Bring

• You have 2+ years of experience editing social first content
• You know TikTok, Instagram Reels, and short form content inside and out
• You have a strong pulse on trends, internet culture, and what people actually want to watch
• You know how to turn raw footage into content that stops the scroll
• You understand hooks, pacing, storytelling, sound, captions, and what makes an edit hit
• You’re comfortable in Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or similar editing platforms
• You move fast, stay organized, and can manage multiple edits and deadlines at once
• You take creative direction well, but you’re also not afraid to bring your own ideas to the table
• You’re tapped into beauty, wellness, lifestyle, and culture, and experience in these spaces is a plus
