Dignity Health’s Arizona General Hospital seeks an Emergency Services Nurse to lead and coordinate emergency care for acutely ill adults and varying ages in a fast-paced setting.
You will triage, administer care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring accurate documentation and patient advocacy while maintaining composure under pressure.
As our Emergency Services Nurse at our San Tan Valley Satellite Emergency Department, you will take a leadership role in assessing patient/family health problems and resources, and developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive nursing care plans. Thisposition provides professional nursing care and interventions to acutely ill adult patient populations across all ages, from young adults to geriatrics, within a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Every day you willtriage patients, assess their condition, and administer medications and treatments, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, technicians, and support staff to ensure timely and critical interventions. You will meticulously monitor patient progress, educate patients and families on health management, and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with hospital protocols. Serving as a patient advocate, you will quickly adapt to changes in patient conditions (e.g., lab results, vitals), utilize the SBAR format for physician notification, and perform nurse-to-nurse reports, all while balancing patient needs with comfort.
To be successful in this role, you need strong critical thinking skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to remain calm under pressure while delivering high-quality care. Basic computer skills, the ability to recognize your scope of practice, seek multidisciplinary collaboration, and assume accountability for decisions are essential for this dynamic role, which involves heavy physical demands.
