Job description

Get your CNA for free and get paid while in training! Class will be starting either on July 7th, 14th or 15th and CNA test out will be July 31st. This class is for individuals interested in working for Ecumen Saint Benedicts after obtaining their CNA certification.

The Nursing Assistant, CNA-Student, is responsible for providing supervised personal care and designated health-related services while enrolled in CNA training to become certified. This position, under the supervision of professional nurses, follows the individualized client care plan and all HIPAA guidelines. As a Nursing Assistant, CNA-Student, you will be guided by LPNs/RNs and gain experience in non-hospital nursing and community-based care.

The targeted pay for this role is $17.50 per hour as a CNA Student.

  • Remote Learning: Self-paced online coursework
  • In-Person Commitments (all dates required):
    • 07/22: 7am - 3:30pm
    • 07/23: 7am - 3:30pm
    • 07/24: 4:00pm - 8:30pm
    • 07/29: 6am - 2:30pm
    • 07/30: 7am - 3:30pm
    • 07/31: 7am - 3:30pm

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with treatments and activities of daily living as delegated by the Clinical Director, including:
    • Dressing, grooming, bathing, eating, toileting, ambulation, transferring
    • Assist with AM and HS cares, including oral care
    • Incontinence care
    • Assistive devices, glasses, and hearing aids
  • Provide physical care according to established procedures and standards, including ADLs, vital signs, and ROM exercises, promoting independence and dignity. Assist with adaptive equipment.
  • Respond appropriately to safety hazards, call lights, and requests.
  • Report changes in residents' physical condition, behavior, and level of independence to the nurse.
  • Assist with admissions and discharges.
  • Report relevant information and concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Complete required documentation accurately.
  • Work effectively with others in a dynamic environment, supporting all team members as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a CNA program within four months of starting.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow safety rules, regulations, and policies, including HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, and OSHA standards.
